THE BABY AD

I liked this ad for Pet Evaporated Milk (above) so much that a few years ago I thumbnailed an animated version of it just to see what it might look like. Some of the mother drawings are terrible and I was tempted to redraw this before posting it here but the old drawings have the virtue of being done and that counts for a lot. Anyway thanks to John K whose drawings of my kids inspired this. John draws the best babies ever.

I am actually laughing out loud at these drawings! I love the floppy skull and sagging baby fat! The expression with the buck teeth is PRICELESS!!!

hahahaha..yeh, Babies are monsters.

HEY, what happened with that "Baby's New Formula" cartoon?... the one directed by Aaron Springer .. I think?

IT DISSAPEARED from the Internet and I want to watch it again. It was SO sick and funny!.

oh,... thank you so much for the funny-monstruous drawings.

I love the baby's ever-shifting emotional state... it's like the the world changes with his perceptions of it. He's soft, too. You could fluff his head like a pillow.

Awesome!

Again, LOL-funny, literally.

As to that ad: *sigh*. It's hard to believe that ads ever went at the molto adagio pace. The entire Brahms lullaby (in original orchestration??) with no speech and virtually no action! Few people today would trust an audience to sit still for that long. Thoreau was right: modern life keeps going faster and faster. Where the heck are we going in such a dingbusted hurry?

So you do read the comments after all! This is wonder stuff to see so I am going to have to keep the end of my bargain. Cool as always Uncle Eddie and I would love to see more of these things in the future. Thanks and catch you later!

I want to know where you got that particular commercial to watch and draw from in the pre-youtube years...who has a collection of random circa 1957 TV evaporated milk commercials?

Ha! Great expressions Eddie! I like panel 7 the best!

some of the best of your stuff you ever posted!!

I wonder what happened to that baby? Probably grew into coke addict or something, that's what happens with every child we see on tv for some reason...

This just goes to show why you should never let your baby drink milk from cows that graze near nuclear test sites.

To answer my own question...it must be John. Who owns the TV commercials.

Am I right? What do I win? (I'd say 'booby prize 'in an allusion to your nicely slavering babe but it's too too awful)

Jenny: I originally saw it on a vintage commercial anthology on video tape.
